Payment of dividends by direct credit

Many UK shareholders have already arranged for dividends to be paid electronically directly into their bank or building society account through the BACS (Bankers' Automated Clearing Services) system. The benefit to shareholders of the BACS payment method is that the Registrar posts or electronically sends by email the tax vouchers directly to them, whilst the dividend is credited on the payment date to the shareholder's bank or building society account as cleared funds. Shareholders wishing to benefit from this service should register their bank details at www.investorcentre.co.uk or call our registrar, Computershare Investor Services PLC, via the contact details above. The benefit to the Company is improved efficiency through lower postage charges and print costs.

Dividend ReInvestment Plan (DRIP)

You may be interested to know that William Hill offers a Dividend Reinvestment Plan (DRIP) whereby your cash dividend can be used to purchase additional William Hill shares at a low rate of commission. Contact our Registrar or register online at www.investorcentre.co.uk for further details and a DRIP mandate form.

Share Dealing Facility

Existing or potential investors can buy or sell William Hill PLC ordinary shares via the telephone or internet share dealing service established with the registrars. If you are interested in these services, please telephone 0870 703 0084 or visit www.computershare.com/dealing/internet

WARNING TO SHAREHOLDERS

We have become aware that our shareholders have received unsolicited phone calls or correspondence concerning investment matters. The Financial Services Authority (FSA) identifies these are typically from overseas based ‘brokers’ who target UK shareholders, offering to sell them what often turn out to be worthless or high risk shares in US or UK investments. Shareholders are advised to be very wary of any unsolicited advice, offers to buy shares at a discount or offers of free company reports. If you receive any unsolicited investment advice:

· Make sure you get the correct name of the person and organisation

· Check that they are properly authorised by the FSA before getting involved by visiting www.fsa.gov.uk/register

· Report the matter to the FSA either by calling 0845 606 1234 or visiting www.moneymadeclear.fsa.gov.uk

· If the calls persist, hang up.

More detailed information on this or similar activity can be found on the FSA website www.moneymadeclear.fsa.gov.uk
